Case Study: SEO Blog for MateiTravel

How a new website attracted high-converting traffic from Google through its blog

Case Study: SEO Blog for MateiTravel

MateiTravel launched its website as a showcase for its services: to highlight destinations, explain how it operates, and provide customers with a place to go after receiving a recommendation. But on its own, a website like this rarely starts generating sales right away, especially in the English-language travel niche, where search competition is high and a new domain has no history yet.

That’s exactly why the blog was initially launched more as a way to “revitalize” the website. But the result turned out to be even better: the blog became not just a section of the website, but a channel that started bringing in orders.

Start: A Website with No SEO History

MateiTravel started its promotion from scratch. Without a dedicated SEO team, without a detailed content plan for months ahead, and without the ongoing work of external specialists.

For a project like this, it was important not just to publish articles, but to build them around a commercial logic from the start:

  • what search queries a potential client might enter
  • where the reader should go after reading the article
  • how to turn interest into an inquiry or order

What SMMIX Did

The SMMIX AI SEO Blog began creating articles centered around MateiTravel’s services. Each article functioned not as a standalone “blog post,” but as a landing page: a user arrives from Google, gets an explanation, and sees which MateiTravel service matches their query.

Internal linking connected the articles to the site’s commercial pages. One of the conversion elements was the SMMIX shortcode.

A promo code for blog readers was added to the articles via the shortcode. It didn’t look like a typical advertising banner, but rather like a little bonus hidden within the content: the user reads the article, gets useful information, and unexpectedly sees a bonus for their order.

It was this insertion that generated the first paid order directly from a blog post.

Why It Worked

Organic traffic alone does not necessarily translate to sales. A person might come from Google, read the content, and leave if the article doesn’t provide a clear path forward.

At MateiTravel, the path was built right into the content. The article answered the user’s question, and the promo code gave them an extra reason not to put off placing an order. The reader received not just a link to the service, but a clear incentive to proceed to booking.

Essentially, each article became a mini-landing page within the blog: a search led the user to the article, the article explained the service, and the promo code encouraged the purchase.

Result

Within just two months, the site began receiving orders from organic traffic.

The blog helped bring MateiTravel to the first page of Google for all of the company’s services. According to the Google Search Console data shown in the screenshot, after launching the SMMIX AI SEO Blog, MateiTravel’s organic visibility began growing quickly. In March-April, Google clicks increased by 196% compared with January-February, while impressions grew by 270%.

The growth was not only quantitative. The site began appearing for a much broader set of search queries: the number of queries with impressions grew by 212%, while the number of queries reaching the first page of Google increased by 875%. Strong positions also improved: the number of queries in the top 3 grew by 300%. This shows that the blog was not simply generating random traffic, but gradually expanding the site’s search presence in a relevant niche.

In May, the momentum continued: during just the first 22 days, the site reached more than half of the previous two-month period’s impressions, even though the period was almost three times shorter.

Three months later, the website—which had been promoted from scratch using the blog—received over a dozen paid orders in a single month. And that’s not counting the requests that were still being processed by the manager.

In addition to traditional SEO, we have results from ChatGPT and Gemini. Umami analytics is used to easily monitor results.

Client Comment

“Given the competition in the English-speaking market, I never imagined the website could convert so well thanks to the blog. This tiny investment paid for itself with the very first order. We built the website to showcase our services and launched the blog so the site wouldn’t look half-baked. SMMIX completely changed my perspective, turning the website into a sales tool.”

Conclusion

The MateiTravel case study shows that an SEO blog can be more than just a source of traffic. When articles are written around services, linked to commercial pages, and follow the right marketing funnel, the blog starts functioning as part of the sales process.

For MateiTravel, this became evident with the very first order: a small investment paid off immediately, and within a few months, the website became a stable channel for attracting customers.
